Plagiarism and the internet

Blog Question-Does the Internet blur the lines of “legally owned”? Consider sites like YouTube and Wikipedia.

I truly believe that the consideration and respect for others' work has gone out the window. The internet borrows and uses other people's ideas constantly and presents it as normal. YouTube takes people's creations and distorts them for entertainment value. Wikepedia borrows ideas and presents them as their own. Where do we draw the line between what is ok and what isn't? People tend to be more concerned with getting ahead than doing what is right! How do you claim rights to something that was presented as someone elses'? We are now in a world of selfishness and lawsuits!!?? It is so crazy! It is not the way I was raised and many people have begun to believe that plagiarism is alright but they don't realize that it is no different than stealing and it is hurtful to other people.
